New Blog
We are delighted to introduce HESPA’s new Blog! Many thanks to Olivia Kew-Fickus for starting us off with a great piece, Stop being a hamster, about how to make time for strategic thinking amid the hustle and bustle of the sector’s ever increasing demands. We’re probably all guilty of being hamsters sometimes, so please do have a read when you have a ‘spare’ five minutes - it contains some very useful ideas and advice.
We need you
And now that we’ve started, there’s no going back, so I am appealing to all of you to please get in touch if you have something interesting to share. HESPA members cover a wide array of remits and responsibilities, so the scope for member blogs is broad. Here are just a few of the areas of work in which HESPA members are involved: BI, performance management, strategy, policy, risk, statutory returns, governance, market research, change management, resource allocation, student number planning, research & REF, workload management and business planning. The political landscape also offers huge scope for opinion pieces on changing policies and regulatory developments.
Event write-ups
Blog-style event write-ups are also welcome. There are lots of relevant events taking place and it isn’t always possible to spare a day out of the office, so if you go to anything interesting, please feel free to offer a write-up.
Get in touch
You don't need a fully formed proposal, just pitch us an idea and we can see where it goes. Send your thoughts to jennifer@hespa.ac.uk.
