We are delighted that Simon Wilson of Wilson Sherriff has agreed to host a one-day facilitation skills training session on the 18th January.
As the world becomes less certain, HE planners are often at the sharp end of making sense of ‘wicked’ problems and half-formed ideas. The ability to facilitate productive discussions involving many and varied stakeholders is becoming increasingly important in this environment.
This one-day interactive training will focus on improving your skills both to structure and lead discussions. The training will be aligned with the International Association of Facilitators core competencies but tailored for HE planners. Only 12 places are available for this session to ensure plenty of practical learning on how to shape and set up a discussion before it occurs, using various formats, and techniques for getting the best out of diverse groups and overcoming issues that may arise on the day.
Simon Wilson is an experienced facilitator who has worked with HE and research institutions for many years in the UK and internationally. He comes highly recommended by a number of HESPA colleagues.
Given the limited number of places available, I would advise booking soon to avoid disappointment.
Approximate timings are 10.00 – 16.00, exact times tbc. The cost is £300 inc VAT.
