Colleagues from across professional services departments are working hard on plans for the reopening of university buildings and services against a backdrop of a rapidly developing circumstances. The professional associations representing estates, libraries, HR, strategic planning and health and safety are hosting a joint webinar to bring colleagues together to discuss mutual challenges and ways forward. The aim is to share challenges, solutions and developing best practice. 

The professional associations involved in this webinar are: 

  • Association of University Directors of Estates (AUDE) - represented by Stella Matko University of Strathclyde
  • Higher Education Strategic Planners Association (HESPA)
  • Universities Human Resources (UHR) - represented by Margaret Ayers Canterbury Christ Church University
  • Professional association for academic and research libraries and fellow library consortium, Research Libraries UK (SCONUL)
  • University Health and Safety Association (UHSA)

Representatives from each association will give a brief update on their particular challenges before opening up to a discussion addressing the following areas: 

  • opening up study spaces and managing people flows
  • keeping your campus safe
  • service delivery while social distancing is in place
  • staff engagement, consent and protection
  • long-term implications for the development of university spaces.
