Rosa moved to the UK in 1991 from Milan, Italy, where she worked as a System Analyst in a financial software company. In 1996 she decided to retrain and graduated, in 1999, with a BSc in Management Sciences from LSE. She then entered the academic world and was awarded, in 2003, a PhD on RAE2001 from Brunel University London. She is currently Director of Planning where she is responsible for supporting the university research strategy, the management and review of the academic planning cycle (including student number planning), management of risk, setting and monitoring of KPIs and benchmarking. The office also provides analysis of sector policies, business intelligence and a Continuous Improvement programme. She was responsible for the submission to REF2014 and to RAE2008.

Rosa has delivered a number of international workshops on KPIs and measurement of performance in HE, has been involved in four Jisc funded projects and has published papers on research information management and the impact agenda.
