The use of skills and labour market data has become increasingly common across British universities as employer demand becomes a key piece of strategic insight alongside student demand and competitor intelligence. This session will look at how this works in practice.
Nottingham Trent University’s Portfolio Insight team has responsibility for reporting on LMI and skills data alongside a range of other external and internal data to NTU’s Schools, senior management and other stakeholders. Because the Insight team is part of NTU’s department for Strategic Planning and Change, it’s critical that the delivery of and response to the reporting is aligned to the University’s strategic objectives.
Kathleen Barilla, who works in the Portfolio and Insight team at NTU, will be joined by Richard Hewitt, Director, Higher Education at Lightcast (formerly Emsi Burning Glass), to discuss how this is achieved with the reporting, and how LMI and skills data can be made accessible to those who need to respond to it.
